This review contains spoilers. I couldn't thank the author enough for putting this incredibly important but also taboo topic in such a beautifully drawn manga! If you have ever suffered from PTSD or other mental illnesses, you're being seen in this story. Both MCs have experienced severe trauma and struggle to deal with it in a realistic way. Their backstories are presented in little portions so you get to know them better step by step.

I love how this is really taking a feminist approach about women in the sciences and medicine, showing the excruciating obstacles that come with claiming their right to work in this field. The FL is such a strong woman, I really like her and trust her to help this struggling 18yo kid who just happens to be a prince (and tries to become emperor). Despite she's not exactly trained in psychological care, the two of them kind of form a cute little support group as fellow trauma survivors.

The reincarnation trope works very well in this story too, if you do the calculation you'll realize the FLs behavior does match her mental age convincingly. Aside from all the struggles bc of her past, she also faces a very hostile environment at the royal court, knowing about it only from TV, so she's really having a hard time but is doing so well, keeping up her strong spirit.

The art style is gorgeous, too, I love it so so much!! I adore the designs and the facial expressions have so much depth. One of my fav mangas! Give it a try! ♡

This review contains spoilers. I don't believe the FL has spent years on learning the ways of noble court for she misses the most important rule: Never believe the gossip! Don't trust the rumors! Really, this girl is driving me mad. She keeps sabotaging her own life and future just because of one(!) rumor she heard. The ML really never had a chance because no matter what he does and says, she'll twist his words & actions in her head until it matches her concept of the situation - but ofc never speaks up either. Don't get me wrong!! I read a lot of manga in this genre, I love this genre. I know this whole thing about noble daughters w/ severe communication and confidence issues is part of the plot mechanics. I get it. But there's a lot of manga out there that take on this theme much better - more subtle, more complex, more deeply. The way this FL is thinking though is just ridiculous. She almost seems delusional. The only explanation I'd accept would be if she was jinxed with some mental illness curse, robbing her of logical thinking. (Hint intended lol)
The art style is stunningly beautiful though so I'ma still give this 2☆ for the wonderful drawings. Oh and by the way, I did read like 8 or 10 chapters out of the released 14, so yes, I gave it a serious chance.
